The role of the Human Resource Professional can be irreplaceable in the success of a business. Some important aspects of this role include:

    1. Acting as a conduit for conveying the long and short range goals of the organization,
    2. Advocating for employee involvement in all areas of the business,
    3. Championing good communication between employees, supervisory personnel, and upper management, and
    4. Providing incentives and information to build trust within the organization.

Human Resource Management should provide for physical safety and health, offer opportunities for mental/emotional growth and health plus honor the spiritual needs of employees with policies and programs designed to protect and nurture the human resource.

It has been a recent development in more and more organizations to provide employee assistance and mental health services to employees. It is an important task for the HR Professional to understand the needs of employees in this vital area and to develop prevention and early intervention strategies and referral processes that marshal local resources toward meeting this need.

This presentation is designed to offer insight into this undertaking and encourage HR Professionals to think and act proactively in this arena.
